Interview for Diario Madrid

Today I have the pleasure of interviewing Hades In Love. A band a new band that is about to launch his first work through the network. So we have here Javier (vocals and bass), Angel (guitar and vocals) and Sergio, the trio that makes up this band featuring his enigmatic, melancholic, elegant sound.

Javier, I would say that it is almost obligatory to ask: Why "Hades In Love"?

We wanted a name that defines our music as much as possible. After analyzing our songs we saw that love and death were present in most of the songs and we chose that name. Hades is the God of the underworld and is also the name of the underworld itself. The idea of mixing these two concepts seemed ideal to define us.

The record you are going to launch next month is titled "Poems to Lethe" and is entirely self-produced. How was the recording of this work?

It was a little hard because we had very few resources and it has required a lot of effort but we are very happy with the result. Many people who heard it was surprised when I told them that we have recorded it ourselves at home. Actually I am very pleased that it has been so difficult because I think that things are enjoyed more when is hard to obtain them.

What do the lyrics talk about?

This work is entitled Poems to Lethe. Acording the greek mythology Lethe is a river that is in the underworld. Their waters erase the memories of who drink of them. This work is a compilation of songs dedicated to overcomefeelings that we want to forget. Sometimes there are memories that are painful but keep them with us by their beauty, rather than turn the page. This work is a goodbye with one last kiss of farewell.

I would now like to ask Angel, how is the process of composition of the themes?

Usually when comes the idea of a melody I start to translate it with chords on the guitar, then Javi begins to write the letter, and together we develop the song and we define the voice melody until we get something that we like. Although it is not always so...Sometimes I read some poem by Javi and I put music...Juliette for example, was composed through a dream...I had a dream in which I heard that song, I wake up I went to Javi, I played the song and immediately he started to make the letter... that is the way Juliette was born.

And to conclude I'd like Sergio to answer to other issues. What was the origin of the band?

My brother Javi and Angel are friends for years and have always been involved in musical projects. One day they proposed me playing the drums with them and we started to make songs for fun until suddenly the concept of the band was taking shape, and we decided to formalize it. They appeared in the rehearsal with the song "Juliette" and it could be said that this track marked the trend for the rest. That was the sound we wanted and we had been looking for. It was the sound of our dreams...

What are your plans for the future?

The frenetic pace of our band makes us to bring to the present goals that we believed far in the future... so we have to be ambitious in this way and set our goals high... we want to play at big music festivals and make Hades In Love reaches the most people as possible and transmit everything what the band is.
